Meet The Team

Hello and welcome!

Climbing Bouldering Supply Co. was co-founded in 2020 by Rob and Lucy. We are both eager trad climbers and run this business from our home in Oxfordshire. As we are (currently) living in the flatlands, we have devoted almost all of our free time to exploring climbing areas across the UK and beyond. 

Our favorite crags include Dinas Cromlech, Millstone and Craig Caerfai, but we have also undertaken big climbing trips abroad to Chamonix, the Canadian Rockies, the Dolomites and Costa Blanca (to name just a few!). Find out more about us below. 

Rob Howie

Rob was introduced to climbing by his Dad, and has been hanging from the end of a rope since the tender age of five. Rob enjoys nothing more than big days in the mountains, especially in the Swiss and Italian Alps in which he spent many childhood summers exploring. 

His other passions include alpinism, skiing and caving - essentially anything that involves some form of strenuous outdoor activity! 

Since completing his Maths and Physics degree, Rob has gone on to work as a Principle Software Engineer in Cloud Infrastructure, developing valuable programming skills to help nurture Climbing Bouldering Supply Co. from the ground up. 

Back in 2021, Rob and his partner, Lucy, completed the full traverse of the Cuillin Ridge on Skye, bivvying underneath the In Pinn. Inspired by the wild and rugged Scottish mountains, they then launched Sgùrr - an online climbing shop showcasing unique and affordable climbing equipment from across Europe.   

Lucy Tomlinson

Lucy is an avid trad climber and mountaineer and began climbing while studying Geography at university. Once she started climbing she never looked back, and climbing has taken her and her partner, Rob, all over the world in search of multi-pitch lines and alpine summits.  

Lucy also loves via ferratas, surfing and sport climbing. You can often find her escaping the cold British winters in search of some Spanish limestone!

Since graduating in 2018, Lucy went on to work within environmental and nuclear consultancies, developing a broad range of analytical and reporting skills and focussing on sustainability and decommissioning. She currently works full-time alongside running Climbing Bouldering Supply Co. and Sgùrr.

During the Covid pandemic, she and Rob self-converted a Ford Transit van to allow them to travel more easily to crags and mountains across the UK and Europe. Lucy loves nothing more than packing up the van for a weekend of trad climbing, and her favorite climbing areas include Pembrokeshire sea cliffs and the Llanberis slate quarries.
